Sorry for the late review folks! (Almost after a week of release of the movie). Sudigaadu is Telugu cinema's version of Tamil cinema's 'Tamizh Padam'.
The Plot
The movie is an amazing thriller. The script has a deep rooted suspense that goes till the climax. With dozen villains behind the hero, will the heroine accept him among all the chaos? Does the heroine's father accept their love? No! The answer is no! Director Bheemineni Sreenivasa Rao has made his script not so predictable.
The Suspense
How many times have you seen the above plot in a movie? Can you think of an exact number? The suspense lies in that answer! If you can't count, grab a seat in a cinema near you!
The Violence
This is a thriller. Imagine the violence involved in an 'U' certified movie- Bloodshed you haven't seen in any movie before. The hero's little finger, bullets, daggers, knives, etc concoct the violence that even kids at home will enjoy!
The Climax
No, Cinema Chutney won't leak the climax. But if you are desperate to know, just one spoiler - the President of USA makes a guest appearance.
But on a serious note, if the team at Cinema Chutney had to review this movie critically, it would have been an extension of our previous post - The Heronomics of Indian Cinema. You possibly can't find a logical review for a spoof movie and if you still find one, that reviewer must have taken his job quite seriously.
Looking at the red side of the report card- songs with dance sequences are unnecessary (songs showing montage with funny scenes would have been a good option), a few puns went unnoticed, the second half seemed a tad long but the jokes make up for it.
A satirical take on the stereotypical Telugu movies, Sudigaadu portrays the quintessential Telugu hero. Allari Naresh is no new sailor to this ship, he has acted in many satirical movies before and cake walks with this! (or cake sails)!
You'll find all leading comedians of Telugu cinema in at least one frame in the movie. Comedy being their forte, all comedians do complete justice to their job. Watch it to not miss the funny one liners (and also the suspense). Just like the tag line of the movie goes, u get to watch one hundred movies with one ticket. This movie is a genuine rib-tickler!
